ANALYSIS OF THE REASONS FOR THE INCREASE OF DIESEL GENERATOR OIL CONSUMPTION

Where does the oil consumption of diesel generator go to? Part of it runs to the combustion chamber due to oil tampering and is burned off or forms carbon, and the other part leaks out from the place where the seal is not tight. Diesel generator oil generally enters the combustion chamber through the gap between the piston ring and the ring groove, and the gap between the valve and the duct. The direct cause of its fleeing is the first piston ring in the upper stop near its movement speed drops sharply, it will be attached to the above lubricant flung into the combustion chamber. Therefore, the clearance between the piston ring and the piston, the oil scraping capacity of the piston ring, the pressure in the combustion chamber and the oil viscosity are all closely related to the oil consumption.

From the operating conditions, the viscosity of the oil used is too low, the unit speed and water temperature is too high, the cylinder liner deformation exceeds the limit, the number of frequent starting and stopping, the unit parts wear too much, the oil level is too high, etc. will make the oil consumption increase. Due to the bending of the connecting rod, the piston runout caused by the body shaping tolerance does not meet the requirements (the sign is along the ends of the piston pin axis, one side of the piston ring bank and the other side of the piston skirt appear cylinder liner and piston wear marks), is also an important reason for the increase in oil consumption.

Combining the above reasons, you can control the oil consumption from various aspects such as the fitting gap between piston ring and piston, the pressure of combustion chamber, the speed of the unit, etc. You can also use twisted ring and combined oil ring, which also have obvious effect on reducing the oil consumption.
